Google Sync for your Blackberry

Google Sync is a pretty handy app that lets you sync contacts/calendar events between your device and data in your google account. Unfortunately when I set out to get one for my BB, I would get standard and illegible error message “unable to download sync”. Some digging around and I found out that google’s mobile app server had corrupt device descriptor header along with the app install file (in essence denying download to certain devices). Deep inside a dev forum thread, I dug up a stripped down version of the installation file and uploaded it up on my server to make it available to folks like you who might need it. Virginia Sniper John Allen Muhammad’s execution tonight at 9 ET!

I’m oftentimes a very peaceful individual, rarely seeking bloody vengeance, but this time I cannot wait for John Allen Muhammad to draw his last pathetic breath of prison air before his scheduled execution at 6pm!! What makes this even more exciting is the fact that he not once but twice pleaded for his life, if you could only believe that… Hard to fathom that someone who’s responsible for taking the lives of over a dozen innocent human beings would have the nerve and audacity to plead for his own! I obviously with all my heart wish him the most unpleasant passing to the other side… whatever that other side might be. But more than anything, It’ll be a tremendous relief to know that no longer I must share this air I breathe with a monster in human flesh however far removed it’d be. An oldie but a "goody"..

Since I couldn’t leave comments on the news site.. I wanted to vent about it here on my own poker blog

Having gone back and reviewed all the video evidence, including the original altercation recorded on the cruiser’s dash cam in 2003, I cannot begin to understand how ANYONE could stand by Liko, the anarchist egocentric sychopath. He sort of reminds me of the Dylan guy from the Columbine massacre. Clearly just a fuse waiting to go off.. The sort of guy who has no respect for authority and cannot look past his own nose. He attempts to be the ‘tough’ guy but comes across as a hysterical drama queen, really more like a bich, than a bull. The exact type of character that should evoke all the negative reaction from just about every other normal individual, with a good functioning brain.

The case, like many other similar cop vs. imbred, basically comes down to a simple “you listen to the cop, you’ll be alright” scenario. You fail to listen to the cop, you basically are asking for trouble. If a cop pulls you over and asks you to present ID papers.. mine advise is just do it. Give the cop your papers and everything should be alright if you got nothing to hide. Start asking “why” a thousand times over and you are just asking to be bitch slapped. I’m actually quite amazed at how well this cop acted. I’m not sure I would have had the same patience dealing with a jerk like that.

In the end.. it’s a sad day whenever a good cop dies. The silver lining in all this is that the punk is also dead. I guess the bad karma caught up with him pretty quick.

Hamas vs. Israel..

With the fighting in Israel/Gaza going on I couldn’t leave my 2 cents out of the mix. First the prefix.. I have absolutely no alleagance, nor religious affiliation, nor emotional attachment to either side. That said, I firmly believe in a country’s right to defend itself against external aggression.

It just pisses me how every US news outlet cries foul over ‘disproportionate’ amount of force exerted by Israel on Hamas and obviously the civilian casualties failing to give any attribution to root causes of the conflict, namely the fact that only two months prior Hamas began indiscriminately firing salvos of up to 800 rockets on a daily basis at Isreal civilian targets! Although I have greatest sympathy for innocent lives lost on both sides, there’s not a chance in hell any self respecting nation wouldn’t fight back. And for the numerous countries sitting on the sidelines of the conflict to throw out blank demands for a cease fire is foolish, ironic, and short sighted at best.

From recent history, every time Hamas was given the option of cease fire they abused it to replenish their arsenals of weapons and build greater capabilities to strike at Israel. In my view, the principal party responsible for the civilian casualties is exactly Hamas who elect to shoot rockets from behind the civilian shield.

Maybe this is a Russian speaking in me but sometimes the only inevitable solution to ages long crisis is complete annihilation of the enemy despite all odds. And since for as long as radical Islam will dominate rogue regions of this planet, the humanity should brace for continued conflict despite of the best wishes of peacemakers and hippies. In short, the world will not see the end of fighting in that region until either participating power ceases to exist.
